Daily Random Reading
Update: We've made it even better for kids!
We quickly realized many of the articles were too long or boring for our children! So now we create a (usually) super short, kid-friendly daily story instead.
Everyday we read a random wikipedia article together. Why? At this stage of learning for our children it's important to just give them information.
I do not care if they remember a single thing about the article. It's about filling their brain with information. The hope is that we are creating thousands and thousands of "pegs" for their later learning to latch onto.
We follow wherever the article takes us. Sometimes it's a short article. Sometimes we end up talking about whether dogs can have a cake for a head. But it brings thought and conversation.
