Theodore Learns About Theatrical Families

Theodore the turtle crawled into his favorite spot under a big oak tree. He noticed a book lying open nearby. Curious, he peeked at the pages and saw a story about three children who loved the theater.

The book told of Sorrel, Mark, and Holly Forbes. Their father was missing in the war, so they went to live with their grandmother in London. She was a retired actress and sent them to a special school to learn acting, dancing, and singing.

At first, the children didn't want to go. But soon they discovered hidden talents! Sorrel was great at acting. Mark had a wonderful singing voice. And little Holly could do funny impressions that made everyone laugh.

Theodore smiled as he read about the children performing in plays. He imagined the bright lights, colorful costumes, and excitement of being on stage. The Forbes kids worked hard to learn their parts and put on shows.

The turtle was fascinated to learn that theater skills often run in families. Just like the Forbes children, many actors and actresses grow up with parents or grandparents who performed on stage too.

As the sun began to set, Theodore closed the book gently with his shell. He felt inspired by the story of the Forbes family discovering their love of theater together. Maybe he would put on a little show for his turtle friends tomorrow!
