Theodore Learns About Paralympic Athlete Ella Pardy

Theodore the turtle was swimming in his pond when he noticed a shiny medal floating by. Curious, he swam over to take a closer look.

"Wow, what a beautiful bronze medal!" Theodore exclaimed. "I wonder who it belongs to?"

Just then, his friend Olivia the owl swooped down. "That medal belongs to Ella Pardy," Olivia explained. "She's an amazing Paralympic athlete from Australia."

Theodore's eyes widened with interest. "What's a Paralympic athlete?" he asked.

Olivia smiled. "The Paralympics are special Olympic games for athletes with disabilities. Ella has autism and cerebral palsy, but that doesn't stop her from being a fantastic runner!"

Theodore was impressed. "What events does Ella compete in?"

"She runs in the 100 meter and 200 meter races," Olivia replied. "And she also does long jump. At the 2016 Paralympics in Rio, Ella won a bronze medal as part of Australia's 4x100 meter relay team."

"That's so cool!" Theodore said, admiring the medal. "Ella must train really hard."

Olivia nodded. "She certainly does. Ella trains at the Western Australian Institute of Sport in Perth. She's represented Australia at Commonwealth Games and World Championships too."

Theodore was thoughtful. "It's amazing how Ella doesn't let challenges stop her from achieving her goals. She must be very determined."

"You're right," Olivia agreed. "Ella is a great example of working hard and believing in yourself. She's already competed in two Paralympics and is training for her third in Paris in 2024."

Theodore smiled, feeling inspired by Ella's story. "I hope she wins more medals! Thanks for teaching me about this incredible athlete, Olivia."

As Theodore carefully placed the medal back in the water to continue its journey, he thought about how he could work hard to achieve his own dreams, just like Ella Pardy.
