Theodore Learns About the Amphilius Korupi Catfish

Theodore the turtle was swimming in a coastal stream in Cameroon when he noticed a small, unusual fish. Curious, he swam closer to get a better look.

"Hello there!" Theodore called out. "I've never seen a fish like you before. What kind are you?"

The fish smiled and replied, "I'm an Amphilius korupi catfish. We're a special type of catfish that only lives in these coastal streams in northwestern Cameroon."

"Wow, that's neat!" said Theodore. "What makes you so special?"

The catfish explained, "Well, we're quite small - I'll only grow to about 6.5 centimeters long. And we're endangered, which means there aren't very many of us left in the wild."

Theodore nodded thoughtfully. "I see. Is there anything else interesting about you?"

"Indeed!" the catfish said excitedly. "We're part of a family called Amphiliidae, also known as loach catfish. We have special adaptations that help us live in fast-flowing streams."

Theodore was fascinated. "It's amazing how many unique creatures live in these waters. I'm glad I got to meet you and learn about Amphilius korupi catfish today!"

The two new friends spent the afternoon exploring the stream together, with Theodore marveling at how the small catfish navigated the rushing waters with ease.
