Theodore Learns About The Albuquerque Tribune

Theodore the turtle was crawling through the desert when he came across an old newspaper blowing in the wind. He picked it up with his beak and saw it was called "The Albuquerque Tribune".

"Hmm, I wonder what this is?" Theodore thought to himself.

He started reading and learned that The Albuquerque Tribune was a newspaper in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It began way back in 1922 and came out every afternoon except on Sundays.

Theodore was fascinated to discover that the newspaper had a special logo of a lighthouse. This was because the founder had a motto: "Give Light and the People Will Find Their Own Way". Theodore thought that was a very wise saying.

As he read on, Theodore found out that The Albuquerque Tribune worked together with another newspaper called the Albuquerque Journal. They shared things like printing presses and advertising, but kept their own writers and stories separate.

"That's an interesting way to work together," Theodore mused.

Sadly, Theodore learned that The Albuquerque Tribune stopped printing newspapers in 2008 after 86 years. But he was impressed to read that one of its writers had won a very special award called the Pulitzer Prize for writing about science experiments.

Theodore carefully folded up the old newspaper page. "Even though it's not printed anymore, The Albuquerque Tribune taught people a lot of important things," he thought as he continued on his desert journey, glad to have learned about this piece of history.
