Theodore Learns About Sports Agents

Theodore the turtle was swimming in his pond when he saw a man in a suit talking on a phone. Curious, Theodore swam closer to listen.

"I represent athletes and help them get jobs playing sports," the man said.

Theodore had never heard of a job like that before. He wanted to learn more, so he crawled out of the pond to talk to the man.

"Hi there! I'm Theodore. What's your job called?" Theodore asked.

"I'm a sports agent," the man replied. "My name is Lynn Lashbrook. I help athletes sign contracts with teams and make sure they're treated fairly."

"Wow!" said Theodore. "How did you become a sports agent?"

Lynn explained that he used to work at universities helping student athletes. Then he started his own company to teach people about working in sports.

"I've represented over 150 football players in my career," Lynn told Theodore. "I also started a school to train new sports agents."

Theodore was fascinated. He learned that sports agents need to know a lot about different sports, contracts, and working with people. Lynn even told him about trying to bring a baseball team to Portland.

"Maybe I could be a turtle sports agent someday!" Theodore said excitedly.

Lynn laughed. "With your curiosity, I bet you'd be great at it," he replied.

Theodore slid back into his pond, his head full of new knowledge about the world of sports agents. He couldn't wait to tell his turtle friends all about this interesting career.
