Theodore learns about Bolacalıkoyuncu
Theodore the turtle was exploring Turkey when he came across a small village called Bolacalıkoyuncu. As he walked through the streets, he noticed fruit trees and vegetable gardens everywhere.
"What an interesting place!" Theodore thought. He saw a farmer tending to some goats and decided to ask about the village.
The farmer explained that Bolacalıkoyuncu means "sheepman with crossbred goats" in Turkish. Long ago, the village was known for raising special goats that were a mix between Boer goats and local goats from Van.
Theodore was fascinated to learn that now the village's main business was growing fruits and vegetables instead of raising goats and sheep. The farmer showed him the juicy tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, and sweet melons they grew.
As Theodore continued exploring, he discovered Bolacalıkoyuncu was very close to a bigger town called Taşucu. The village sat right along an important road that connected cities.
Theodore marveled at how a small village could have such an interesting history and be in such a perfect spot for growing delicious produce. He left Bolacalıkoyuncu with a full tummy and lots of new knowledge about this special place in Turkey.
