Theodore Discovers the Sierra Carapé
Theodore the turtle was exploring South America when he came across a beautiful range of hills in Uruguay called the Sierra Carapé.
"Wow!" exclaimed Theodore as he looked up at the rocky peaks. "These hills are so tall and impressive!"
Theodore learned that the Sierra Carapé stretched across two areas of Uruguay called Maldonado and Lavalleja. The hills were part of an even bigger range called Cuchilla Grande.
As Theodore climbed higher, he noticed the rocks were very old - from a time called the Precambrian period. They were made of hard granite and gneiss.
Near the top, Theodore met a friendly local bird. "Did you know this is the highest point in all of Uruguay?" the bird chirped.
"Really?" asked Theodore excitedly.
"Yes! It's called Cerro Catedral and it's 513.66 meters tall," replied the bird.
Theodore was amazed to be standing on Uruguay's highest peak. He gazed out at the beautiful views, feeling lucky to have discovered this special place. He couldn't wait to tell his friends all about the Sierra Carapé when he got home.
